About Term Diary

Term Diary puts school term and holiday dates for UK councils in one place, and lets parents add them to their phone's calendar with one tap.

Where the dates come from

Every date comes from the council's own term-dates page or document. Each council page links to that source and shows the day we last checked it. Where possible we also compare against a second source; if the two disagree, the council wins and we look again.

What we don't cover

Academies, free schools and some church schools set their own term dates, and every school chooses its own INSET days. We don't list individual schools, because their dates change too often to keep reliable. Always check your school's website before booking a holiday.

Coverage

We currently cover 51 councils in England and Wales, and add more every week. Scotland and Northern Ireland are next.

Spotted a wrong date?

Email [email protected] with the council's name and a link to its page. We fix confirmed errors the same week.

Term Diary is independent and is not affiliated with any council, school or government body.
